Новый подход для восстановления границы ледяного покрова по данным спутниковых скаттерометров ASCAT

В работе представлен новый подход для восстановления границы ледяного покрова по данным спутниковых скаттерометров Advanced Scatterometer (ASCAT). Подход основан на использовании среднеквадратичного разброса Δ удельной эффективной площади рассеяния (УЭПР) от линейной функции, аппроксимирующей зависимость УЭПР от угла наблюдения. С использованием измерений ASCAT полного разрешения, данных по сплочённости морского льда, восстановленных по измерениям спутникового микроволнового радиометра Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2) и карт морского льда Арктического и антарктического научно-исследовательского института (ААНИИ) построены среднемесячные функции распределения значений Δ над морским льдом и над морской водой для всей Арктики. Показано, что средние значения Δ над водой в несколько раз превышают средние значения Δ над морским льдом, что даёт возможность оценивать границы (протяжённость) ледяного покрова. Построены среднесуточные карты границ ледяного покрова по данным ASCAT и проведено сравнение протяжённости ледяного покрова Арктики (англ. Sea Ice Extent — SIE) по данным ASCAT и по данным AMSR2 с использованием оперативных спутниковых продуктов, создаваемых ведущими международными центрами данных. Показано, что среднеквадратичная разница в оценках SIE по данным ASCAT и по данным AMSR2 не превышает 1,5 %. В зимних условиях разница в оценках SIE не превышает 0,5 %. Летние значения SIE по данным ASCAT превышают SIE по данным AMSR2 на 3–5 %. Предложенный метод предоставляет новые возможности для использования скаттерометрических данных. Верификация метода, приводящего к расхождению в оценках SIE по данным микроволновых радиометров, требует дополнительных исследований.
