In the paper the method of the numerical solution of a problem of variation data assimilation of the on-line data of the
sea surface temperature (SST) of the World Ocean is considered. The observation data was set by special "mask" -
characteristic function which depends on a time variable and which carrier does not coincide with all settlement water
area. Thus, the problem of assimilation of the real (satellite) data of the SST of the World ocean without in addition
interpolation on a subdomain is considered at present time where the observation data of was absent during the
considered moment of time. For calculations the version of mathematical model of circulation of the World Ocean,
developed in INM RAS was used.
Keywords: variational data assimilation, satellite observation data, sea surface temperature, mathematical model of the World ocean circulation
