In the paper the key problems of Satellite Radar Interferometry (INSAR) processing and interpretation of results are discussed. Case study is landslide monitoring in the Big Sochi area based on ALOS-1 PALSAR-1, ENVISAT and TerraSAR-X acquisitions for the January 2007 – September 2012 period. Integration of different INSAR methods and incorporation of radar images from satellites with different operating frequency bands permitted us to investigate and monitor landslide activity under unfavorable for interferometry conditions of the Big Sochi. In particular, for the large scale ancient landslide in the Baranovka village the increase of displacement rate from 10 to 30 mm/month was fixed 3 months before rapid landsliding event. It was shown that efficiency of the monitoring depends on the statement of the problem, selection of time of acquisitions with particular frequency bands and methods of estimation of displacement rates. Reliable interpretation of results, including estimation of three components of the displacement vectors, requires ground based information about study objects and character of their displacements.
