Remotely-sensed data was used in new dynamic simulation model of crop production of maize. On the basis of the simulation model the dynamic statistical method for the purpose of predicting the yield of grain maize was developed for using in the operational practice of Hydromet. The efficiency of the method of forecasting crop yields with and without the satellite information in the simulation model of growth and forming of maize grain was estimated for regions of the South and the North Caucasus federal district.
Keywords: remotely-sensed data, NDVI, maize, simulation model, productivity, crop production
