Assessment of an error of determination of areas of windfalls using space images of high spatial resolution of Landsat-TM

Results of research of limiting possibilities of system of Landsat-TM for identification of windfalls and determination of their actual area are presented. The assessment of limiting possibilities of methods of identification of windfalls using space images of Landsat-TM is given. The dependence of a relative average error of an assessment of the area of windfalls from its real area was constructed for an assessment of an error of determination of the actual area of windfalls on images of Landsat-TM. The dependences of vegetation indexes and the main components of the area of windfall are presented for an assessment of limiting possibilities of methods of detection of windfalls. Results and the analysis of the received dependences are given in work.
