An opportunity to use the nautical X-band radar with the wide antenna beamwidth (1.9о) for reconstruction of vector velocity of sea surface currents is testing. Method developed for Wamos systems to obtain the sea wave spectrum from sequences of nautical radar images is applied. The method is based on a technique of separating the wave signal from the speckle-noise using the dispersion relation for surface gravity waves. Results of the experiments at the Black Sea are reported. A successful example of a set of reconstructions of vector velocity is presented.
