The method for estimating of agriculture practice level and its changes in task of cereal cultivation in Northern Kazakhstan during 2000-2009 according to the MODIS

Seasonal maximum of vegetation index NDVI (product MOD13Q1, resolution 250 m) of the period 2000-2009 for spring cereals in Northern Kazakhstan were used to assess changes in the agriculture practice level in Akmola and Kostanay provinces. Empirical relation between NDVI values and official crop productivity type: PROD = K * NDVI; have been transformed by replacing the coefficient (K) on a linear time function: K = (1 + K1 * T) * K0. It was assumed that (K0) - responsible for the basic relationship between the values of vegetation index and crops yield, the coefficient (K1), described the annual effect of changes in the agriculture practice level, starting with the reference year (T) - a positive number of years separating the reference and the analyzed year. For districts of Akmola and Kostanay oblasts it was obtained quantitative estimation, (K0) - basic level (variation of 9 to 21), (K1) - the rate of annual change (variation from 0.005 to 0.19).
