Radiative characteristics of three-layer medium with a thin intermediate layer in the microwave range

The behavior of the radio brightness temperature in the microwave range of three-layer medium with a thin intermediate layer with very different value of the dielectric properties of a thin layer was studied. The measurements of such media (soil and ice), and calculations for various angles of observation for the two linear polarizations (horizontal and vertical) were carried out. The studies found that the observed interference of the radio thermal radiation depending on thickness. In addition, the conditions in which the value of the power of thermal radiation on the horizontal polarization exceed the value on the vertical polarization were founded.
