The effect of mechanical stress on the appearance of additional electromagnetic waves in fresh water ice cover at microwaves was studied. It was founded that the presence of ice preferential orientation of the crystals and the occurrence of flow led to specific polarized incoherent additional waves. Their appearance should be considered when interpreting the radiosounde data icy objects at to temperature changes affected.
Keywords: microwaves, ice, additional waves, polarization, ice flow
