In the work, numerical simulation results and actual satellite data are used to analyze the relation between atmospheric scattering and appearance of sun glints on satellite IR images, obtained in the channels of the wavelength range 3.5-4 μm for the meteorological conditions of the turbid atmosphere. We considered the physical causes and opticalgeometric conditions for manifestation of this effect during remote monitoring of Earth from space.
Keywords: IR range, satellite images, atmospheric glints, causes for appearance
