Distributed system for agriculture monitoring in Ukraine

The paper describes a distributed system for agriculture monitoring in Ukraine at two levels: ministerial level, and agriculture enterprise level. The crop monitoring is done using data and products derived from moderate and highresolution remote sensing satellites. The system includes as components a geoportal with Web interface, and a desktop GIS with additional functions of automatic data retrieval and business-logic analysis. The system is built up using open-source software and conforms to OGC standards for geospatial information management.
