Monitoring of the Gulf of Finland on the basis of the satellite data

The monitoring of the Gulf of Finland was made on the basis of MODIS radiometer data of space system EOS (Terra,
Aqua) during 2007-2009. The main parameters of realized monitoring were high water turbidity areas, algae bloom and
sea surface temperature. Dam and other hydraulic engineering constructions were intensively being built in these areas.
Procedure of operative satellite monitoring on the base MODIS/Terra data is fulfilled. The hydrometeorological information
and background satellite data 2005 were used in order to explain the high water turbidity distribution.
