The main problems of space monitoring have been considered to study and to assess ecological condition of large
river catchments as united ecosystem. The experience of remote sensing and cartography information utilization has
been realized for assessing the Belaya River basin effect on the Krasnodar Reservoir formation and pollution. The
ecology-cartography map of the Belaya River basin and its delta has been charted. On the map the latter has been
shown to be accumulator of contaminants yielded by solid river runoff from the watershed area.
