The new scheme of measurement of statistical parameters of rough water surface by the Doppler microwave
radar with knife-beam antenna is analyzed. Scheme differs from others than flight occurs along
straight line. Use of variable speed of movement during measurements allows to receive a full system of
the equations containing width of a Doppler spectrum, speed of movement of the radar and statistical
parameters of a water surface. New algorithms of retrieval of a variance of backscattering surface slopes,
and also a coefficient of correlation of vertical component of orbital velocity and a slope along a movement
direction are developed. The full algorithm allows to restore a variance of slopes and coefficient of
correlation under condition of exact measurement of speeds of movement and width of Doppler spectra.
Linear algorithms allow to measure only a variance of slopes. Accuracy of retrieval of a variance of
slopes increases with increase of speed of movement. Numerical modeling has confirmed working capacity
of algorithms in the conditions of the inexact definition of entrance parameters.
