Some examples of anomaly high backscattering levels from concrete and water surfaces at L and
VHF bands are demonstrated. The results of amplitude level measurements are presented, possible
causes of observed effects are discussed. One of that possible causes can be the influence of periodical
structures such as seams between concrete plates or wind waves at the water surface. It was suggested
that at VHF band resonance occurrences can have place for wide band of spatial frequencies due to wide
frequency band the radar signal. The conclusion of the need to take into account the possibility of
appearance of the same type effects is made.
