The application of remote sensing methods at the decision of regional tasks of rational usage by
natural resources is described. The ecological tasks of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug- Ugra are
considered. In this region 60 % of the Russian petroleum is extracted. The region is characterized by
essential anthropogenous influence on an environment and inaccessibility of territory. The methodical
questions of usage of space images for forest monitoring in conditions of influence of the
anthropogenous and natural factors are considered. The automated technology of remote monitoring of
petroleum production and transportation places is submitted. The purpose of technology is detection and
mapping of petroleum pollutions. The information technology of the forecast of daily and maximum
water levels during a spring high water in Middle Ob is described. The technology uses the ground and
satellite information. The approach to study of cryogenic processes in north Siberia based on the analysis
of space images is considered. This task is urgent because of influence of global warming on permafrost
in areas of petroleum and gas deposits.
