The article presents the results of research conducted during the development of an automatic method for georeferencing images acquired by the MSU-100M multispectral imaging devices of the Meteor-M No. 2 satellite during a complete reception session. The method is based on the SGP4 (Simplified General Perturbation #4) orbital motion model in combination with a mathematical model of image formation, which accurately accounts for all aspects of camera operation in orbit. Image georeferencing is corrected by calculating optimal values of the satellite attitude angles (roll, pitch and yaw) using ground control points or by forecasting. Focal length estimates for individual channels of both MSU-100M cameras of the Meteor-M No. 2 satellite are refined and presented. Spatial misalignment angles (roll, pitch, and yaw) of the optical axes of the channels of both MSU-100M cameras relative to the base channel are calculated and presented. Estimates of the spatial misalignment angles between the instrumentation systems of the MSU-MR radiometer (multiband scanner of low spatial resolution) and both MSU-100M cameras are also calculated. The use of these estimates allowed for more accurate georeferencing of images obtained by the MSU-100M cameras using satellite attitude angle values computed from automatically calculated ground control points in the MSU-MR images. Test results of the developed method for MSU-100M data georeferencing are presented and discussed.
