The article presents the results of an analysis of the state of winter and spring agricultural crops in the Russian Federation in 2025 based on satellite observations. The analysis focuses on a comparison of maximum seasonal values of the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) vegetation index with similar indicators of previous years. Note that, according to satellite data, winter crop yields higher than the average for the past 5 years were expected in the southeast and east of the European Territory of Russia (ETR), lower ones in certain southwestern regions of the ETR, and in the remaining parts of the ETR, they were mostly estimated close to the average for 2020–2024. The spring crop yield predicted by satellite data was above the average for the past 5 years in Stavropol Krai, in the north of the Southern Federal District, in the southeast of the Central Federal District, as well as in a significant number of districts of the Volga, Ural, and Siberian Federal Districts. Spring crop yields were expected to be lower than the 2020–2024 average in many southwestern regions of the ETR. In other regions, yields were estimated to be close to the five-year average. It is noted that in many regions, current harvest results already confirm the above findings based on satellite observations.
