The paper presents the results of a multi-year research devoted to the development of a methodology for the reconstruction of turbidity and suspended sediment concentration fields based on satellite optical data of high spatial resolution in the mouth zone of the Mzymta River in the period from 2018 to 2024. In order to verify and comprehensively analyze contact and remote sensing methods, 6 series of in situ measurements were conducted under spring-summer flood conditions during the specified time period: from mid-April to early May. In situ subsatellite quasi-synchronous measurements included: CTD measurements by the RBR-concerto instrument of the Canadian firm RBR Ltd, near-surface measurements of seawater turbidity by the TN400 portable turbidimeter of Apera Instruments and marine water sampling. Satellite data from MSI Sentinel 2A/2B, OLI/TIRS Landsat-8 and OLI-2/TIRS-2 Landsat-9 optical sensors were used. The satellite images were analyzed by applying the ACOLITE software package and implemented algorithms developed by B. Nechad and A. I. Dogliotti and colleagues. The applicability of the standard algorithms for the study area in a wide range of turbidity and suspended sediment concentrations was considered.
