The paper presents the results of an analysis of the state of grain crops in Russia in 2022 together with statistical data on the yield of these crops for previous years. The analysis is based on different NDVI maps generated in the Vega satellite monitoring system. It is shown that in all federal districts — leaders in the production of winter grain crops, the potential yield of this crop group in 2022 is estimated at a record level, according to satellite data. For spring grain crops, a more heterogeneous situation is observed based on remote sensing data. The productivity of this crop group is estimated at a level close to the record in the Central, Volga and Ural Federal Districts. In other Federal Districts (Siberian, North Caucasian, Southern) the potential yield of spring grain crops is estimated at a level close to the average for the past five years or below it.
