A study of variability characteristics of atmospheric internal waves over the Russian Federation Pacific coast

Characteristics of atmospheric internal waves and their signatures over the Russian Federation Pacific coast are studied using MODIS satellite data and results of upper-air sounding from 2008 to 2017. We consider the geometric features of cloud manifestations of wave processes using images from space in the visible light spectrum. We restore the physical parameters of atmospheric internal waves and the current environmental state by the satellite data products and results of upper-air sounding. The results of the analysis of frequency of the studied wave processes and localization of their signatures observation areas are presented. The annual behavior of various characteristics of atmospheric internal waves for a specified period of time is shown. The results of the analysis of interannual variability of parameters of wave processes and their cloud manifestations are discussed. Hypotheses are put forward regarding the causes and conditions of the occurrence of atmospheric internal waves over the Russian Federation Pacific coast.
