On the basis of experimental measurement data the capabilities of continuous monitoring technology designed for the reconstruction of the spatial-temporal structure of the ionosphere and solving operational control problems of altitude distribution and total electron concentration of the ionosphere using satellite-to-satellite radio-grounding radio signals using GPS/GLONASS navigation satellite signals were demonstrated in real time over sea areas. The results of passive monitoring of ionosphere over the seawater areas created on its basis are presented in real time. The complex operated on ships during an Arctic sea expedition and oceanographic expedition to Antarctica. It is shown that the complex allows simultaneous determining the parameters of ionosphere both along the ship route and along the trajectory of subionospheric points in different azimuth directions. At the same time, it is possible to determine ionosphere parameters in more than 15–20 subionospheric points on the territory within a 1000 km radius of the location of the receiver of navigation signals. These results can be used to obtain representative data on the real state of the Earth ionosphere over an area up to three million square kilometers.
