The Far-Eastern Center of SRC “Planeta” and the Far Eastern Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring created a regional information system METEO DV GIS to ensure decision-making in various spheres of life on the basis of optimal accounting for complex information on the state of the atmosphere and underlying surface in the Far East. The system is implemented on web and GIS technologies and contains a large list of spatial data analysis tools including hydrological, meteorological, oceanographic, geophysical, ecological, prognostic and satellite information. The system has high velocity and efficient data organization, which provides end users with comprehensive and systematic research. We implemented more than 60 map servers of various thematic information on ArcGIS Server. The paper pays special attention to the satellite component and the possibility of its integration with the data of ground-based observations and numerical weather forecasts. During operation, the system demonstrated high performance: accuracy of data, speed of bringing products to end users, a large number of output products that contribute to making correct and timely decisions aimed at minimizing damage from natural emergencies.
