The paper considers the results of the annual conference “Regional Problems of Earth Remote Sensing” held at Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk over the 5-year period. The conference was initially conceived as a forum for discussing scientific and practical problems of creating and developing regional systems of remote sensing from space and their importance for the solution of social and economic tasks in different territories. Traditionally, the conference has three sections: “Monitoring of environment, natural and anthropogenic objects and phenomena”; “Modern and perspective systems of regional remote sensing”; “Models and methods for processing Earth remote sensing data”. The conference brings together researchers and specialists in the field of regional remote sensing systems development and within five years of its existence it has become a recognizable platform for discussing these issues in the scientific community and in a dialogue with governmental authorities. The paper presents some statistics of the conference results, such as age and geography of the conference participants, dynamics of publication activity, forms of interaction within the scientific community, experts and potential consumers of data and remote sensing systems, students and post-graduates. The conference is supported by the Siberian Federal University, the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Kray, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Krasnoyarsk Region Science and Technology Support Fund.
