An experiment for the correction of the onboard catalogue fragment of the BOKZ-M60 star tracker

The data calculated in (Avanesov et al., 2018b) was used for correcting the coordinates of the compact group of 25 stars from the BOKZ-M60 star tracker onboard catalogue. With the use of the refined catalog, the calculations of the orientation parameters were carried out by a series of frames of the celestial sphere section observation where these stars were concentrated. The random and systematic components of the stars’ coordinates measurement errors, as well as errors of determining the main point’s coordinates were estimated. The correction of the stars’ coordinates of the onboard catalog really leads to a significant reduction of systematic errors in the measurements of the stars’ coordinates and, accordingly, the main point’s coordinates. Thus, the expediency of bringing the onboard catalogue into conformity with the instrument’s observational capabilities is confirmed. However, the use of the statistical method to bring the onboard star catalogues into conformity with the observational capabilities of star trackers is hardly feasible in modern conditions. The emergence of the latest star catalogues created within the framework of the European project Gaia makes it more promising to directly convert the coordinates of the stars specified in it into the coordinates of the stars of the onboard catalog, taking into account the observational capabilities of the instrument used.
