This paper presents description of techniques for assessment of potential development dynamics of flood during the passage of high waters and floods based on the analysis of long-term space monitoring data. The technique allows to obtain spatial and temporal dynamics of flood zones in the study area during the growth of high water and floods. This dynamic is formed by constructing a single row from multi-time data series, where data are arranged in ascending order of the area of flood zones. Such approach eliminates the defects caused by high overcast, which is often observed during the flood period of a particular season, and large interval of time between the adjacent surveys. It allows to trace much more fully the sequence of flooding of the territory at the growth of high waters and floods. This spatial-temporal dynamics of flooding of the territory represents dynamics of real zones of flooding. Accuracy of definition of such zones is defined by spatial resolution of remote sensing data used. For basic data MODIS scenes are used. Since there are three types of long-term time series, three representations of spatio-temporal dynamics of flooding of the territory during the development of high waters and floods are formed: according to daily, ten-day and seasonal data. As an illustration of the capabilities of the methodology, the results for flood-prone areas of river basins of the Syr-Darya (the district of the settlement of Dzhusala) and Irtysh (district of the city of Pavlodar) are given.
