Detecting and documenting failures in distributed information systems of remote monitoring

Ensuring reliable operation of distributed information systems (IS) of remote sensing, consisting of a large number of processing stations and satellite data archive servers requires permanent monitoring large volumes of incoming information for failures for their timely correction. This can be accomplished by appropriate a highly efficient system of detecting and tracking failures, which in turn should automatically detect the most possible number of bugs to provide relevant information and in a timely manner inform all responsible professionals and at the same time be flexible enough to support further development of IS. However, using independent failure detect systems is inefficient while supporting multiple functionally linked IS, because of the high increase of incoming information and the need to work with different web-interfaces. In this case the most convenient and effective means of monitoring the state of all elements of all supported IS will be a unified system for detecting and tracking failures, which will have a unified web-interface, access to information about your software and hardware components, as well as its own means of automatic diagnostics and informing the specialists. The paper poses a problem of creating such a system and discusses some software solutions to it.
