The paper discusses the interannual variability of the World Ocean Heat Content (WOHC) since the middle of the 20th century until now. The mean trend of WOHC amounts to 0.22 × 1022 J per year and describes 75% of the initial variance. Based on reanalysis and satellite data on sea surface temperature the fine-resolution statistical models describing WOHC variations are constructed. A certain stabilization of WOHC fluctuations was shown since 2008.
