Potential of Wiener filtration is analyzed for reconstruction of smeared images obtained by spaceborne imaging systems. It is shown using a ‘chessboard’-type test image with different cell sizes that image features half the size of the sensor PSF width can be reconstructed if the signal-to-noise ratio of the original image is 250 to 100 and the PSF width error is within 10%. Examples are given of reconstruction of real images obrained by space-borne imaging systems.
