Landsat observations of plumes from gas well pumpings were used to obtain soot concentration and emission parameters, including the gas flow and burning efficiency. The process was based on fitting to observed plume form and optical density the model plumes generated by dispersion model ISC3ST as functions of fitted parameters of emission and atmosphere. Atmospheric parameters included wind speed and stability. The fitted parameters agree well with independent data provided by the gas field owner.
