Seasonal variability of temperature in the mesopause region (80-100 km), obtained from spectral observations of the hydroxyl emission (band OH(6–2) 834.0 nm) at the Zvenigorod station (56N, 37E) of Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) and the Geophysical Observatory (52N, 103 E) of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISTP) during 2008–2011 is presented. The statistically significant first three harmonics of the seasonal variations of temperature and its standard deviations are taken as characteristics of temperature variability. Depending on the time interval taken for the analysis of temperature variations, the standard deviations can be an indicator of activity of various atmospheric waves propagating in the upper atmosphere. The analysis carried out show the greater temperature and its variability parameters obtained at the ISTP Geophysical Observatory.
