Based on the information about vessels positions, stored in the database of Rosrybolovstvo, the analysis is made on the
fishing fleet tracks for different frequencies of locations polling. It was shown that 2 hours polling frequency is not enough
for making assessments of the fleet fishing activities. The authors discuss the possibility of raising frequency by using data
emitted by AIS transponders and collecting it with SatAIS. Estimates are made of possible loading of communication channels,
designed for AIS transponders data exchange, with SatAIS used for monitoring fishing fleets in Ockhotsk Sea area.
