Based on the analysis of archival data from NOAA in 1988 and 2001 for the first time the changes of dominant types of native tundra and forest-tundra vegetation on the territory of Tazovskiy peninsula are estimated. Violations and the transformation vegetation were determined from the change of radiation temperature (RT) surface by use the thermal channel of the radiometer AVHRR satellite NOAA. The main type of vegetation's transformation - replacing burnt deer lichen to the secondary species: grass, shrub vegetation, moss green. It is shown that the transformations are bound with the major oil and gas fields and pipelines. The assessment area of the transformed vegetation cover make up approximately 14% (10 000 km2) area of peninsula.
Keywords: tundra vegetation, oil and gas facilities, remote sensing, the transformation of vegetation, permafrost
