Space monitoring negative situations in coastal zones of large reservoirs
Water Problem Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia, 119333 Moscow, Gubkin str., 3
In the paper the main negative situations in coastal zones of seas, large lakes and reservoirs are described and their classification is presented. Expediency of complex consideration of these situations within the frame of the united system «watershed-watercourse-coastal zone-reservoir» is shown. Efficiency is appreciated of utilizing remote sensing data for monitoring the greater part of negative phenomenon under the lack of ground-based observations. Results are presented of studies of conflict situation at coasts of some water objects in the southern region of Russia, namely, Caspian and Black Seas, Krasnodar and Tsimlyan Reservoirs using multitemporal space images.
Keywords: space monitoring, negative situations, coasts, watershed, river runoff, pollution, reconfiguration of the coasts, anthropogenic impact
