The development of the space remote sensing investigation of the earth surface in the mid-sixties have arisen problem of validation the space information - checking real technical characteristics of space systems, it's stability and reliability of thematic interpretation of space data. These problems dared by means aerospace survey of special regions - the sites of the terrestrial surface with certain requirements to it's characteristics, with the established optical-standards and means for land supervision. Up to the end 80th some ranges (proving grounds) were active. Now again there is a necessity of a choosing and arrangement of such ranges. Proving ground on Karelian isthmus is offered as the geoecological range
