Satellite monitoring the ecological framework of river basin as a method of assessing its condition and possibility of recovery

The paper describes the main tasks of monitoring the environmental framework of river basin, the urgency of using satellite imagery for inventory, assessing condition and dynamic of the ecological framework elements for river basins of different hierarchical levels, as well as identifying areas for future activities on the ecological framework strengthening and reconstruction. By the example of the Seim river basin specifics is considered of utilizing satellite imagery for studying and mapping the ecological framework of forest-steppe territories subject to intensive long-term anthropogenic load.
